The Employee Health Nurse can be hired at either location in
Portland/Woodburn/Salem area dependent on location.
What We Offer
- $42.58-$52.00/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly
experienced candidates
- $2,5000 sign-on bonus & $1,000 bonus at 12 months of
employment

As an Employee Health Nurse, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assists with the maintenance and enforcement of the
preventative screening programs (e.g. TB skin testing, influenza,
hepatitis B, MMR, varicella and other appropriate immunizations)
and surveillance programs designed to identify and monitor risks to
the employees health.
- Develops and implements health/safety promotion strategies for
the individual and larger discipline.
- Respirator Protection Training and Respirator FIT testing
compliance. Ensures compliance with training, and record keeping at
all Clinical Sites. Medical screening dependent on job function
hazard. Continuous Job Hazard risk evaluation.
- Hazardous Drug Medical Surveillance Program. Obtains medical
and occupational history for those at highest risk of hazardous
drug exposure. Hazardous drug post-exposure case management.
Ongoing medical surveillance.
- Blood Borne Pathogen Control Plan. Post- exposure case
management. OSHA 300 record keeping. Case management for employees
who have experienced possible exposures to blood borne pathogens
and or infectious disease in the workplace. Collaborates with
infection control to continuously improve engineering and
administrative controls.
- Establishes and follows organization protocols and standards of
care to meet the occupational health care needs of the employee
population.
- Responds to employee health phone line, accurately triages
workplace injuries/illnesses, and provides appropriate nursing
interventions.
- Refers employee to primary care, occupational health, urgent
care, or the emergency department as appropriate.
- Monitors employee work-related illness and injury trends and
assesses, develops, and implements strategies to prevent
work-acquired injury or illness and expedite return to work.
- In collaboration with Human Resources, establishes and executes
pre-hire occupational screening requirements for new
employees.
- Participates in the development of employee wellness programs
and initiatives. Including the ergonomics program.
- Partners with the HR team and Third-Party Administrator to
administer workers compensation claims and recommend return to work
protocols.
- Documents employee health visits thoroughly and accurately in
RL Solutions.
- Maintains and ensures confidentiality of patient information
and medical records.
- Advocates for the rights of employees by ensuring access to
preventative health and safety measures.
- Provides employee health training and support to Clinic
Employee Health Representatives.
- Assists with the maintenance and development of an effective
Employee Health program across all states and locations that
complies with state and federal laws and regulations. Provides
timely investigation and management of employee health injuries
reported through the RL Solutions system. Records and responds to
OSHA and other requests for employee health histories and
complaints and/or investigations.
- Maintains and assists with the development of systems for
records storage and retention, including medical files, in
accordance with applicable statutes and best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint
Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration
(HRSA) and YVFWC requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s degree in nursing(BSN). Associate degree
and two additional years direct clinical care experience may be
substituted for Bachelor's Degree. Master s Degree in Nursing
preferred.
- Experience: Two years direct clinical care experience. Two
years occupational/employee health experience preferred.
- Professional Licenses/Certificates/Registration:Registered
Nurse (RN) license for the state of practice. RN licenses in both
Washington (WA) and Oregon (OR) within 24 months of hire.
COHN/COHN-S within 24 months of hire. BLS (Basic Life Support)
certification within 90 days of hire. If RN license is in a
participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state, the following
requirements apply:
- Must submit proof of license in state of residence.
- Must submit proof of completion for the required suicide
prevention training during 1st week of onboarding.
- If relocating to Washington State, must obtain WA RN license
within 6 months of hire.
- Must update primary state of residence within 60 days (applies
to anyone relocating to Washington State)
- Military Nurses are not required to obtain Nurse Licensure
Compact (NLC)
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required or Preferred:Knowledge of
regulations and standards related to Occupational Safety & Health
Administration (OSHA), Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act
(WISHA), Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP),
Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), American National
Standards Institute (ANSI), U.S. Food and Drug Administration
(FDA), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), The Joint Commission
(TJC), and WA/OR health care regulations. Effective verbal, written
and listening communication skills. Skills in problem-solving and
sound judgment. Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of
tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions. Ability to do
research and apply knowledge gained in the community health
setting. Ability to manage and utilize aggregate data. Ability to
lead a multi-disciplinary team to achieve goals. Ability to convey
complex details in a simplified manner. Ability to exercise
independent judgment and discretion. Ability to work effectively
with all levels of individuals within and outside the organization.
Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information
with discretion. Basic proficiency with a variety of computer
programs including Word, Excel, and Electronic Medical Records
(EMR).
